• Montpelier Police Log: Dog attacks and vandalism reported

    The following is a sampling of calls to Montpelier police in recent days.



    @Police Log Date:April 1

    A border collie was running loose on Deerfield Drive.

    On Taylor Street, a two-car accident occurred around 3 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    A backpack was stolen from Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

    A debit card was found on Main Street.



    @Police Log Date:April 2

    A vehicle had two tires slashed and a window spray-painted on Main Street.

    At the intersection of Northfield and Prospect streets, a rifle was lying in the roadway.

    A red Specialized bicycle was found behind a woman’s house on Pearl Street.

    An orange cone was in the road at the intersection of Main Street and East State Street.

    Two dogs attacked a woman’s dog in Hubbard Park.

    A bag of trash was found on State Street.

    On State Street, a digital camera in a leather case was lost.

    A black Motorola cellphone was found on Main Street.

    Someone vandalized a sign on East State Street.

    A white beagle was found in Hubbard Park.

    On Main Street, an iPhone was found.

    A two-car accident occurred on Elm Street around 9 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    Someone vandalized a building and a gazebo on Main Street.

    A woman’s dog was attacked by another dog on Stone Cutters Way.

    On North Street, a golden retriever went missing.

    A vehicle was damaged with a key on Stone Cutters Way.

    A wallet was found in the commuter parking lot on Dog River Road.

    On Barre Street, a set of keys was found.

    Someone stole a magazine from a Berlin Street store.



    @Police Log Date:April 7

    A two-car accident occurred on Berlin Street around 8:30 a.m. No injuries were reported.

    A dog was running loose on Main Street.

    Some bricks fell off a Main Street building.

    A tree fell on power lines and was blocking the road at the intersection of Mill Road and Corey Road.



    Montpelier police also issued a citation April 2. Patrick Aaron Fleury, 34, was cited on a charge of contempt of court.
