MONTPELIER — The Energy Co-op of Vermont, which launched its 2013 Co-op Solar program in February, is partnering with Hunger Mountain Coop in co-hosting a solar hot water seminar Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Hunger Mountain Coop.

The program is designed to help Vermonters save money and energy by heating their water with the sun.

Residents can sign up for a free, no-obligation site assessment.

The Co-op Solar program runs through April 30, though state incentive money may run out sooner. The program is open to any home or business owner. By partnering with Sunward Systems, a local manufacturer of the solar hot water heating equipment, Co-op Solar offers discounted systems that are assembled in Vermont and installed by certified local contractors. Further savings come from a 30 percent federal tax credit and a state incentive of up to $1,200.

The online sign-up form, events schedule and additional information can be found at www.Co-opSolar.net.
