• Neun re-elected in Roxbury runoff
    April 04,2013

ROXBURY — Select Board Chairman Shawn Neun was re-elected in another close vote in Tuesday’s runoff election in Roxbury.

Town Clerk Tammy Legacy said Neun defeated Tim Martin Jr. 179-174 for the three-year seat.

Neun and Martin had split the vote on Town Meeting Day last month 142-142.

Neun said Wednesday he was happy he won and looks forward to serving Roxbury for three more years. He said the first vote in March was already a town record turnout and this vote of 353 out of around 700 residents just adds to that record.

Neun credits the leg work he and Martin did in drumming up support for the vote for the record numbers.
