    Letter was inappropriate

    I have been adjusting my understanding of what’s appropriate to be written (and what becomes public reading) as I spend scant time on Facebook. From our instantaneous social media, I understand that what people write, others will readily have before them to read.

    I expect more from my local, printed newspaper, particularly the editorial section which I assume gets a thoughtful editorial review.

    Could you let your readers know how you make decisions about what you do and do not print? You state, “We endeavor to publish all letters” in your submission instructions. I would strongly encourage you to consider a more stringent gauge, particularly in light of Roy Bair’s recent submission. Certain canine images are not fit for print.
