PLAINFIELD — Goddard College has hired former Montpelier City Council member Sarah Jarvis as special assistant and chief of staff to President Barbara Vacarr.

The school said in a statement that Jarvis will oversee all operations of the office of the president.

Jarvis “brings a wealth of experience as a lawyer, policy leader and community leader in Montpelier and the surrounding community that will benefit the college,” Vacarr said in the news release.

Jarvis is a former deputy state’s attorney for Washington County. She is chairwoman of the Montpelier Economic Development Committee and a board member of Montpelier Alive and the Vermont Bar Association, and volunteers for the Montpelier Community Justice Center.
