• Montpelier Police Log: Dogs and cellphones on the loose

    The following is a sampling of calls Montpelier police received in recent days.

    March 18

    Someone vandalized a Granite Street building.

    Two German shepherds were running in the road on Barre Street.

    Some items were stolen from a School Street residence.

    March 19

    A Toyota Prius was unable to make it up Northfield Street.

    On Sibley Avenue, a snowblowing dispute led to a man pulling a knife.

    Someone threw a smoke bomb or a flare into an East State Street kitchen.

    On Main Street, someone lost a black Tracfone.

    A golden-colored Lab mix was loose on Northfield Street and chased a woman.

    March 20

    Someone lost a gold ring on School Street.

    Several cars went through a red light at the intersection of Northfield Street and Memorial Drive.

    Metal was in the roadway at the intersection of Elm and Vine streets.

    March 21

    A two-car accident occurred at the intersection of River and Pioneer streets around 12:30 p.m. Minor injuries were reported.

    A cellphone was found in the road on State Street.

    March 22

    A car hit a deer on National Life Drive.

    Someone lost an iPhone at the intersection of Main and Franklin streets.

    On Granite Street, someone broke a window.

    A two-car accident occurred on Main Street around 4:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    March 23

    An injured deer was on the side of Gallison Hill Road.

    The traffic light at the intersection of State Street and Bailey Avenue was flashing.

    Someone lost a black cellphone on East State Street.

    Montpelier police also issued a citation March 19 to Christopher L. Wilder, 22, on a charge of disorderly conduct.
