EAST HARDWICK — Michael Roy Rublee, 62, died Friday, March 22, 2013, in his home.
He was born July 3, 1950, in Barre, the son of Roy and Ruth (Misulis) Rublee.
He graduated in 1968 from Hardwick Academy. He married Trudy Ann Ainsworth on Sept. 27, 1969, in Hardwick.
He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1970, served in Homestead, Fla., and was honorably discharged in 1974.
He was first employed by David Dimick as a garbage collector and truck driver. He worked a short time for Alfred Anair Construction, and for 25 years he was employed by Pelletier Lumber in Hardwick as a yard foreman. He later worked for five years for Martinsen Industries in Wolcott. He retired in 2008 due to failing health.
He attended United Church in Hardwick. He enjoyed the woods, reading and time spent at Spruce Mountain, Camels Hump and Nichols Ledge.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jonathan Rublee, of Palmyra, Pa., and Shane Rublee, of Stannard; two daughters, Melanie Willett, of East Hardwick, and Leslie Nelson, of Hardwick; a sister, June Sida, of El Paso, Texas; nine grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two siblings, Joseph Rublee and Carol Clark.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm St. in Hardwick.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, at United Church of Hardwick.
