     | March 07,2013

BARRE – Green Mountain Power is planning to interrupt electric service to roughly 900 Barre area customers early Sunday morning.

Barring inclement weather the hour-long outage will begin at 1 a.m. on Sunday so that crews can safely make system upgrades and repairs. Power is expected to be restored some time around 2 a.m.

Some GMP customers in Barre, Barre Town and Berlin will be affected. The affected areas include a stretch of the Barre-Montpelier Road between the GMP substation and Vine Street in Berlin, Beckley Hill Road between North Main Street in Barre and Nichols Road in Barre Town and Richardson Road between North Main Street in Barre and School Road in Barre Town.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate the planned power outage will be rescheduled for 1 a.m. Sunday, March 17.
