    LOWER GRANITEVILLE — The life of Arline Ewen Tucker, of Orchard Terrace, was honored and celebrated in the Graniteville Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 1 p.m. She died Feb. 18, 2013, at the Rowan Court Health and Rehab Center in Barre City.

    The Rev. Rebecca Strader, pastor of the church, led the service. Organist Richard Shadroui led the congregation in the hymns, “Morning Has Broken,” “I Need Thee Every Hour” and “Blessed Assurance.” He also accompanied the Rev. Strader in the song “Dark Island” on the piano.

    Bagpiper Donald Murray played the “Skye Boat Song” and “Amazing Grace,” as well as several Scottish airs in the postlude music.

    Daughter Jane Tucker, son Bill Tucker and grandsons Dan and Robert Thompson read from Scripture.

    Words of remembrance were offered by daughter Jane and son Bill, as well as brother-in-law William Carr Sr. and the best man at their wedding, Clarence Adams, and several members of the congregation.

    A time of fellowship and an ice cream social followed in the church dining room.

    Later interment will be made in the Wilson Cemetery in Barre Town.

    The Eastern Star memorial service was presented Thursday evening in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, by Charity Chapter 57 of Williamstown. Jackie Carpenter was worthy matron, and Donald Brown was worthy patron. The chaplain was Cedric Smith. The star points were Debbie Spooner as Adah, Barbara Smith as Ruth, Florence Perrin as Esther, Helen Duke as Martha and Carolyn Werneke as Electa.
