SHEFFIELD — Vermont State Police say a Montpelier man assaulted a woman in Sheffield in December.

State police say Phillip Heinz, 41, assaulted Heather Cookson, 34, of Wheelock, when the two were working at the Miller’s Run School.

Heinz is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County criminal court on April 8 to answer the charge of simple assault.
