MONTPELIER — The City Council approved City Manager William Fraser’s contract Wednesday.

His salary will increase by 2 percent, and the city will provide a $5,000 increase to his retirement account, Mayor John Hollar said before the meeting.

The council had recognized that although the city couldn’t give Fraser a higher raise, he was one of the most senior city managers in the state, Hollar said.
