    Gisele R. Royer Rites

    BURLINGTON — A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre for Gisele R. Royer, formerly of Barre, who passed away at Fletcher Allen Health Care on Feb. 14, 2013.

    The principal celebrant was the Rev. Peter O’Leary, pastor of Our Lady of Grace Church in Colchester, assisted by the Rev. Mr. William Glinka, deacon, and the Rev. Mr. Daniel Pudvah, deacon, from St. Monica Catholic Church.

    Crucifer and altar server was Lawrence Reilly.

    Organist Rose Badeau accompanied vocalists Sarah Procopio and Ron Routhier in the hymns, “Here I Am Lord,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” “Ave Maria,” “Song of Farewell” and “Now Thank We All Our God.”

    Words of remembrance were offered by Cory Royer, grandson.

    Readings from the Old and New Testament were done by Beth Moquin, step-granddaughter, and Ryan Royer, grandson.

    Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Gisele’s grandchildren, Cory and Ryan Royer.

    Pallbearers were members of the Knights of Columbus Council 399 Real Maurice, Denis Jacques, Robert Brault, Andre Bilodeau and Pierre Cote and grandsons Cory and Ryan Royer.

    Father O’Leary led a prayer service Thursday morning at the funeral home.

    Entombment was in the Elmwood Vault; a later spring burial will be held in St. Sylvester Cemetery.

    Following the entombment, family and friends gathered at the Canadian Club for a time of fellowship and luncheon.

    Arrangements were in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
