• Barre Police Log: Woman waves handgun

    The following is a sampling of calls Barre police responded to in recent days.

    Feb. 11

    A Vermont State Police vehicle was rear-ended on Summer Street.

    Someone stole items from a toolbox on South Vine Street.

    Two raccoons were fighting near South Main Street.

    A man pounded on a woman’s back door on Wellington Street asking to go through her apartment. The woman refused, and later a woman came knocking on her door looking for a man who she said stole from her.

    Feb. 12

    An iPod was stolen on South Main Street.

    On Boynton Street, a truck was gone through.

    A woman was waving a handgun on North Main Street.

    On North Main Street, a man was repeatedly hitting on a woman outside the courthouse and she wanted something done about it.

    An inspection sticker was stolen from a vehicle on Foster Street.

    A 20-year-old was giving a 14-year-old cigarettes on Auditorium Hill.

    Feb. 13

    A man was destroying an apartment on Park Street.

    On Maple Avenue, a group of people showed up and started “causing problems.”

    A boy ran away from home on Highgate Drive.

    Feb. 14

    A man stole a woman’s medication on High Holborn Street.

    On Route 62, a man in his 20s or 30s wearing a blue jacket was walking along the roadside.

    A man locked a woman out of an apartment on Seminary Street.

    Feb. 15

    A two-car accident occurred on Maple Avenue around 1:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.

    Four males in a silver Dodge Ram had spray paint cans held up to their mouths on South Main Street.

    Three men were going up to houses on Pleasant Street, and if a motion light came on they would back off, but if no light came on they would approach the house and try the front door.

    A woman called with questions about putting “Just married” paraphernalia on her vehicle.

    Feb. 16

    A male broke a window on Keith Avenue.

    Someone went through vehicles on Washington Street.

    A bus backed into a parked car on Auditorium Hill.

    Feb. 17

    A two-car accident occurred on South Main Street around 10:15 a.m. No injuries were reported.

    A neighbor’s dog attacked a woman’s dog on Long Street.

    A two-car accident took place on Summer Street around 4:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
