MONTPELIER — Police cited Ryan McCain, 26, of Barre, on a charge of driving while intoxicated Thursday.

McCain had a blood alcohol content of 0.166 percent around 2:20 a.m. Thursday, city police said. Police found a vehicle with a shredded tire and other damage on an Interstate 89 off-ramp near Dog River Road.

Police said a towing company reported later Thursday morning that the vehicle may have crossed the median and gone up a bank and back onto the road based on fresh tracks.
