Commission looking at ways to restore Vt brook
BURLINGTON — A planning commission has secured a $3,600 state grant to help restore a polluted brook between Burlington and South Burlington.
The Winooski-based Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission says the Centennial Brook is impaired because of pollution-laden storm runoff and erosion.
The commission plans to use the grant, as well as $91,000 from local holders of stormwater permits, to fund strategies to prevent or lessen the effects of runoff.
It’s looking into rain gardens and other techniques.MORE IN Vermont NewsRutland Regional Medical Center has finalized plans with the state to open a methadone clinic in... Full StoryNEWTOWN, Conn.
