Eugene O. White Rites
WEBSTERVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, February 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church in Graniteville for Eugene Otis White, who passed away on February 2, 2013, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston.
The Reverend Andrew Bednarowicz, parochial vicar of the church, was the celebrant.
Roger Cyr served as crucifer and altar server.
Organist Rosie Badeau accompanied soloists Sarah Procopio and Ronald Routhier in the hymns, “Lead Me, Lord,” “J’irai La Voir Un Jour,” “Prayer of St. Francis” and “Let There Be Peace on Earth”.
Words of remembrance were offered by Denis White, son, and Madison Farless, granddaughter.
The Old Testament reading was done by McKenzie Farless and Madison Farless read scriptures from the New Testament, both granddaughters.
Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Madison Farless and McKenzie Farless.
Pallbearers were Denis White, Doug White, sons; Lou Koniecki, James Farless, sons-in-law; Dylan White, grandson; and family friend Mark Hutchins.
A prayer service was held Thursday evening at the funeral home and was led by Father Andrew Bednarowicz.
The Montpelier Elks Lodge #924 also held a service at the funeral home and was led by Acting Exalted Ruler Scott Phillips, Leading Knight Pat Corsney, Loyal Knight Kevin Goss, Lecturing Knight Tim Hutchins, Inner Guard Johanna Ackerson, Chaplain Karen Lafreniere and Esquire Mike Blanchet.
Entombment was in the Wilson Vault. A later spring burial will be in St. Sylvester Cemetery in Lower Websterville.
Following the Mass, family and friends gathered at the Hilltop Restaurant for a time of fellowship and luncheon.
