School choice means hope
I hope that my children will someday be able to attend a school capable of offering them a truly robust education.
I hope that someday my children will attend a school that suits them personally and educationally.
I hope that my taxes will return to a rate that is livable.
Increased enrollment numbers (equalized pupils) = lower taxes.
Increased CLA (home sale values) = lower taxes.
Surrounding towns want and welcome our children because having them attend their local school improves their tax rate too and improves their school’s overall condition — not the other way around.
School choice towns adamantly lobby to keep choice because it has proven successful at all levels for the towns that have it and the families that enjoy it, including lower taxes.
On March 4, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the Cabot School District meeting, voters will have the opportunity to finally make school choice happen for Cabot high school students.
You must attend the meeting in person.
There will be a paper ballot called for on the floor.
Vote “yes” to Article 5 to close Cabot’s high school.
Vote “no” to Article 6 to reject the school budget.
By voting “no” to the school budget at the meeting, you will give the Cabot School Board the opportunity to go back to the table and negotiate a budget that accommodates school choice.
Vote to give our children choice and our town hope.
