MONTPELIER — Two culinary masters, Eric Girerd and Jean-Louis Gerin, will host a chocolate class and a chocolate martini event and dinner at the Chef’s Table this weekend.
The pair will be part of a Chocolate Weekend on Saturday and Sunday presented by the New England Culinary Institute, when participants can choose which events to attend. The cost is $25 for the class and $125 for a weekend package that includes wine.
Girerd is a master chocolatier and owner of L’Atelier du Chocolat in New York City. He joins his longtime friend Gerin, NECI’s own master chef and the Food Network’s 2012 “Chopped” champion.
The Inn at Montpelier and the Capitol Plaza Hotel are offering discounted rates for participants.
Chocolate classes will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the kitchens at La Brioche Bakery & Café.
Chocolate martinis will be served at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Chef’s Table at 118 Main St.
The chocolate dinner for adults features three courses and an assortment of chocolate desserts beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The more traditional children’s dinner and movie feature, “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory,” starts at 6 p.m. Saturday in the lounge at NECI on Main.
NECI’s award-winning Sunday brunch will continue with the chocolate theme.
