    taking applications

WOODBURY — The Green Mountain Conservation Camps are accepting applications for children 12 to 14 years old.

The one-week camp program, sponsored by the Vermont Department of Fish & Wildlife, is held at Buck Lake in Woodbury and Lake Bomoseen in Castleton, where children learn about Vermont’s wildlife and gain outdoor skills.

Tuition is $250 for the week, including food, lodging and equipment.

Campers participate in hands-on learning experiences about fish and wildlife conservation, ecology, forestry, orienteering, safe gun and archery techniques, swimming, canoeing, fishing and more in an outdoor setting.

Conservation Camps open June 17 and continue until Aug. 17. Those interested are encouraged to visit www.vtfishandwildlife.com.

They can also email fwgmcc@state.vt.us or call 241-3768.
