MIDDLESEX — Vermont Companion Animal Neutering is urging cat owners to “beat the heat” by spaying their female cats in advance of their heat cycles to prevent unwanted litters from being born this Spring.
According to a statement released by the nonprofit organization, animal shelters commonly refer to springtime as “kitten season” because that’s when they receive the largest influx of unwanted litters.
During the entire month of February, the organization will spay female cats — or neuter male cats — for a special rate of $20 for all Vermont cat owners. Cat owners who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the “Beat the Heat” promotion when they schedule their appointment at the organization’s clinic in Middlesex.
For more information and to schedule an appointment, call 223-0034, email info@vt-can.org, or go online to www.vt-can.org.
