MONTPELIER — The city began accepting candidate petitions Thursday and will continue until Feb. 4 at 5 p.m.

Petitions must include 25 signatures from registered Montpelier voters. Signers can’t endorse two or more people for the same seat.

The City Council has three seats up for a vote. Anne Watson, who was appointed to a District 3 seat last year, has indicated she will seek to retain her seat. Tom Golonka in District 1 said he plans to run for re-election.

Angela MacDonald-Timpone in District 3 is not seeking re-election.
