NORTHFIELD — Norwich University says it exceeded its $20.2 million goal for its three-year fundraising initiative by raising $24 million.
The campaign, “Bearing the Torch,” ended in 2012, and the school says it is the fifth straight fundraising campaign to exceed its goal.
“I cannot thank our donors enough,” said President Richard W. Schneider in a news release. “On top of exceeding our goal overall, we raised six times what we anticipated for scholarships, which shows me that our supporters really believe in the Norwich experience — the Partridge model of American education — and that they want to ensure Norwich is vibrant for future generations.”
The campaign largely supports an endowment for student scholarships. Money raised also supports campus infrastructure, including the building of the Shaw Outdoor Center and the renovation of Sabine Field.MORE IN Central VermontBRATTLEBORO — Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour created what little daylight there might be...
