Ruth F. Bisson Rites
BARRE — A Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated on Friday, January 4, 2013. in St. Monica Catholic Church for Ruth Farnham Bisson, 90, of Sunset Road. She died December 29, 2012, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Stonecliffe of Barre Town.
Rev. Leopold Bilodeau, pastor, was the chief celebrant assisted by Rev. Kevin Rooney, pastor of St. Edward’s Church in Williamstown. The crucifer and altar server was Lawrence Riley.
The ushers were grandsons Alden Bisson, Christopher Bisson, Kevin Bisson and Peter Bisson.
Organist Rosemary Badeau accompanied vocalists, son Rosaire Bisson, daughter-in-law Marilyn Bisson and son-in-law David Stonecliffe, in the hymns, “Amazing Grace,” “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” “Gentle Woman, Hail Mary,” “Here I Am Lord” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Daughters Diane Stonecliffe and Annette Rossi gave the Eulogy and Words of Remembrance. Readings from the Old and New Testament were by Sr. Theresa and Sr. Elizabeth. The Offertory Gifts were presented at the altar by grandchildren Maria Noyes, Colton Bisson and Mary Bradley and great-granddaughter Ireland Ruth Donahue.
Entombment took place in the Hooker and Whitcomb Vault to await later burial in St. Sylvester Cemetery in Websterville. The bearers were Ruth’s sons, Rosaire Bisson, Michael Bisson, Donald Bisson, Thomas Bisson, Edward Bisson and Robert Bisson.
Following the Mass, family and friends gathered at the Hilltop Restaurant on Quarry Hill for a time of sharing and a luncheon.
Father Bilodeau conducted a prayer service on Thursday evening at 5:45 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre.
