WAITSFIELD — Vermont State Police say 10 cows were running loose for around an hour in Waitsfield late Tuesday night.
The Belted Galloway cows were owned by farmer Hadley Gaylord. They were located in the parking lot of the Village Grocery on Main Street.
Trooper Amber Haag said state police received the call about the wayward cows around 11:37 p.m. She said the cows were having trouble getting traction on the roads because of the salt, but none of the cows fell or were injured.
Haag said the cows were eventually herded back to their pasture by Gaylord’s cattle dog and the escape did not cause any traffic disturbances. Haag said she responded in case she needed to escort the cows back home.MORE IN This Just InBURLINGTON — A woman accused of giving drugs to a woman who overdosed and died and a man who...
