    Red light, green light

I find it rather difficult to drive through Barre City — not that the city isn’t beautiful now but perhaps an oversight may have snuck in while waiting on a red light to change.

I’ve heard that the new traffic light system is one that’s synchronized across the nation. As a frequent user of Barre City streets (you hear so much of keeping it local) I feel that traffic lights should be localized. This coordination could be done through a review of your traffic camera surveillance systems.

As I sit at the stoplights (rather anxiously impatient), I begin to contemplate the aging process, as well as the amount of gas and diesel fumes that waft throughout the streets of everybody’s hometown.

May I also suggest better and more appropriate lighting at all crosswalks, as well as more fluorescent and durable crosswalk markings?

Might I enlighten you in that the traffic lights take so long to change that the people who properly push the walk button wind up walking against it, leaving the cars having to wait some more for the walk light to change also?

I’m sure I am not the only person to address this issue, and I do hope and pray that a response comes of this notation.
