CHELSEA — Vermont State Police say a Chelsea man assaulted multiple people early Monday.

Richard Kempton, 44, was cited on charges of domestic assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.

State police say they were called to a residence on Hillside Lane in response to a family disturbance and, upon arrival, learned that several assaults had taken place.

Kempton was scheduled to appear in Orange County criminal court later Monday to answer the charges.
