Police arrest fugitive after chase in Vt.
NEWBURY — Vermont State Police say a convicted felon is in jail after leading troopers on a high-speed chase and waving a loaded pistol at them.
Police say 28-year-old Michael Hoehl of Corinth had been sought for the past few months in Vermont and New Hampshire as a fugitive from justice.
Police told the Burlington Free Press (http://bfpne.ws/R7h0n1) Hoehl was believed to be in the Orange County area operating a stolen car that’s been repainted several times.
The chase happened in Newbury on Tuesday morning. They said Hoehl eventually pulled into a field and ran into the woods.
Troopers negotiated with him for about an hour until he surrendered. No one was hurt.
He was arrested on charges of grand larceny, possession of stolen property, assault on a police officer, and others.MORE IN This Just InPolice investigate Warren burglary Full StoryMONTPELIER — District heat construction crews will be working around School and Taylor streets...
