Slick roadways contributed to car crashes around the state Friday and Saturday.
Three crashes, none involving injuries, were reported by Vermont State Police in Guilford, Lincoln and Brattleboro.
Snowy roads and icy conditions were factors in each of the single-vehicle crashes.
In Lincoln, a Jeep Wrangler driven by 19-year-old Patrick Fifield crashed off West Hill Road after the vehicle struck snow-covered ruts in the road. The car rolled onto its hood during the crash, which took place at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
In Guilford, police say Alex Rideout, 39, of Hinsdale, N.H., was driving too fast for the snowy conditions on Interstate 91 Saturday morning when he lost control of his 2003 Chevy Truck and crashed into a brush pile in the median.
The crash in Brattleboro Saturday morning involved a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 21-year-old Bryan Phillips of Naugatuck, Conn. Police say Phillips was traveling into Brattleboro from I-91 when he lost control of his car on the Exit 2 ramp, which was covered with ice and snow. The car skidded off the ramp and rolled onto its roof.MORE IN Vermont NewsVermont Gas Systems has received the federal go-ahead to build a natural gas pipeline under Lake... Full Story
