Green Mountain Coffee reports improved sales
WATERBURY — Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. reported improved sales in its annual report Tuesday, and the company said it expects some significant capital investments going forward.
The Waterbury company issued its annual and fourth quarter report Tuesday, showing total net sales increased 46 percent from $2.65 billion for a 52-week period ending in September 2011 to $3.86 billion for a 53-week period ending in September 2012.
Driving those sales were single-serve portion packets, which made up $2.7 billion. According to the company, transaction volume made up the bulk of a 59 percent increase in those sales year-to-year.
Brewers and accessories made up $759.8 million, with 8.6 million Keurig single-cup brewers sold.
The company anticipates 14 to 18 percent growth in net sales for the first quarter of 2013 and 15 to 20 percent net sales growth from fiscal year 2012 to 2013.
As part of fiscal year 2013, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters also expects $380 million to $430 million in capital expenditures.MORE IN This Just InBen & Jerry’s
