Vt. town offers special postmark for Dec. 9November 24,2012
PLYMOUTH — The post office in the Vermont town of Plymouth is offering a special stamp cancellation to mark the town’s 2012 annual Coolidge holiday open house.
The pictorial postmark reads “Holiday Station, Plymouth, Vt.” It’s dated Sunday, Dec. 9 and is designed by John Lutz, a local artist who has designed the postmark for over 10 years.
By request, it will be applied for free to postcards and letters bearing postage on Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., inside the Florence Cilley General Store at the old Plymouth Post Office.
The event is sponsored by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation.MORE IN Vermont NewsHARTFORD — As the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan wind down, more and more soldiers continue to come...
