Last day for Sandy relief collection
BERLIN — Today is the last day for a donation drive for Hurricane Sandy victims who live in the Rockaway Beach and South Shore area of Long Island.
Connor Contracting, Gifford Medical Center, Lamberton Electric Inc., Casella Waste Management and Vermont Heating and Ventilating Inc. are teaming up to fill two trucks with supplies to take to the storm-ravaged area.
They are looking for donations of new underwear, thermal underwear, diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, dry shampoo, feminine products and new books and games for children.
For the workers who are helping with cleanup efforts, they’re looking for items such as generators, sump pumps, gloves, batteries, flashlights, hoses, face masks, bleach, brooms, shovels and mops.
Donations can be delivered to Connor Contracting Inc. at 1100 Route 2 in Berlin, just past Capitol City Auto heading east. The company can be reached at 223-3843.MORE IN This Just InWeston Playhouse Theatre Company opened its 79th season with a slice of Vermont hick. Full Story“Press that white button!
