• Man to be charged in holdup

    BETHEL — Vermont State Police say a Tunbridge man will be charged in a pharmacy holdup in Bethel last month.

    Police said 22-year-old George Akroyd was arrested in New Hampshire and is being held at the Strafford County jail.

    Akroyd is accused of robbing the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Bethel on Oct. 30.

    He’s scheduled to be extradited to Vermont on Monday to face a charge of assault and robbery.
