The place to be
As I was making my way to my home city one morning this week, I saw a “Little Digger” sign hanging from its post in Hope Cemetery. Little Digger enthusiastically greeted me with his sign (familiar to most of us), “Barre Is Open!”
Thanks to the creative and constant reminders that our downtown businesses and shops have been open all year, we have known that all have been welcome to walk around and through the construction to frequent Main Street businesses. A shout out to the Barre Partnership and its “We Dig Barre” subcommittee. Thanks for your tireless work in the midst of the Main Street reconstruction project, an undertaking that’s been refreshing and draining all at once. Most of the Main Street reconstruction is now completed. Thanks, also, to the many city leaders and contractors that made the project all possible.
Let’s keep on walking downtown, meeting up downtown at any one of our great establishments, sitting on the new public furniture, and thinking downtown as destination.
Barre is ours. Barre is fully open to everyone. Downtown has been, downtown is, and downtown will be what we make it. Let’s make it the place to be.
