Appreciating Jerome the Florist
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jerome Bolkum (Jerome the Florist and the Bluebird) for his many years of service to those of us who live in and around the greater Barre area. His establishment will surely be missed in downtown Barre. Jerome has also been a great supporter of Spaulding High School and its students, even though he was a graduate of our once upon a time greatest rival, Montpelier High School. I can’t count the number of times Jerome offered to help the kids in one way or another at a cost to him, not to the kids. You can find Jerome at many events with his famous Tootsie Pops. He was forever decorating his store windows with SHS items to help celebrate Spaulding High School functions. Most recently Jerome offered to display and handle clothing items being sold by the Spaulding High School Alumni Association. He and his floral business will be missed, even though I’m sure he’ll still be found at SHS events and around town. Good luck with the next chapter of your life, Jerome.
