Rites

WORCESTER — A funeral service for Emma Jean Sargent, who died Oct. 5, 2012, was held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at Worcester United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jerry Breen, pastor of the church, officiated the service, and Jacqueline Polchies was the organist. Special soloist was Jessie (Sargent) Reisch, who sang “Amazing Grace.” The 23rd Psalm was read by Richard Swenson.

Pallbearers included Christopher Swenson, Fletcher Sargent, William Sargent III, Richard Swenson, Thomas Swenson and Tyler Swenson. Burial was in the family lot at the Horton Cemetery in Chittenden on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., and the Rev. David Smith offered committal prayers.

Guare & Sons Funeral Home of Montpelier and Barnard Funeral Home of Pittsford were in charge of arrangements.
