WARDSBORO — Vermont State Police say a woman drunkenly crashed her vehicle into a pond Sunday.

Diana Gayle Lane, 69, of Townshend, was driving west on Newfane Road when she hit a stone wall and rolled her vehicle into the water, police said. Lane was able to get free from the vehicle. No injuries were reported, police said.

Lane is to appear in Windham County criminal court Oct. 23 to answer the charge of driving under the influence. The vehicle was removed from the pond by Scott Brooks Towing with the help of a local scuba team.
