    STOWE — The Mass of Christian burial for Jan E. Bernasconi, of North Hill Crossing Road, was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Church on the Stowe Mountain Road. She died Sept. 29, 2012, at her home.

    The Rev. Benedict Kiely, pastor of the church, was the celebrant, reading from the Gospel and giving the homily.

    Guitarist and singer Brooke Wright led the congregation in the hymns “Be Not Afraid,” “Here I Am Lord,” “On Eagles Wings” and “Amazing Grace.”

    Steve Chambers read the Scripture lessons from the Old and New Testament.

    The altar servers were Luke and Julia Bisceglia. Barbara Puddicombe and Mary Chambers brought the offertory gifts to the altar.

    Jan’s husband, Bob Aughey, gave her eulogy, and her sister Jayne Bernasconi offered words of remembrance.

    The bearers were nephew Jason Bernasconi, cousin John St. Francis, and family friends Michael Puddicombe, Albert St. Amand, Peter Kelley and Brian Gingras.

    Burial was made in the Hope Cemetery in Barre, where Father Kiely read the committal prayers.

    A time of fellowship and refreshment followed at the Country Club of Vermont in Waterbury.

    Fellow communicants of Jan’s at Blessed Sacrament Church, Michael Puddicombe and Mary Chambers, led the prayer vigil service Tuesday evening at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre.
