Dental coverage ensures timely care
I’m writing on behalf of the Advocacy Committee of Bethany Church in Randolph. One of the issues we are highlighting this fall is the need for better access to dental care. Although children are quite well cared for in this regard in Vermont, there are many adult Vermonters, whose jobs do not pay enough to allow them to afford dental insurance, who forgo dental care until there is a painful emergency, when they end up going to a hospital emergency room.
It is our understanding that the Green Mountain Care Board will be making a final decision soon as to whether to include adult dental coverage in Vermont’s essential health benefits package. We are deeply concerned about this issue and urge the board to include this coverage.
