Camper in Barnet
damaged by fire
BARNET — Vermont State Police reported that a Barre man’s camper caught fire Saturday evening.
The Peacham Fire Department was first to arrive at 65 Sunny Beach Lane, on Harvey’s Lake in Barnet, after the fire was called in around 5:30 p.m. They found the camper fully engulfed in flames.
No one was staying at the camper and no injuries were reported. Police said the camper is owned by James MacDonald of Barre.
The state police Fire Unit and the state Department of Fire Safety could not determine the cause of the fire, but said it was not considered suspicious.
