    Janet Hyslop

BARRE TOWN — Janet Hyslop of Barre Town passed away at home with her loving family on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012.

Janet was born Dec. 25, 1944, in Bellows Falls. She attended school there, and lived most of her life in the area. She worked for years as a bookkeeper at Dunham Brothers and at Basketville. Most recently, she resided with her daughter’s family in Barre Town.

Above all else, Janet cherished her family — especially her grandkids. She is survived by her son John, daughter-in-law Jennifer and granddaughter Sophia, all of Bellows Falls, as well as her daughter, Jenny, son-in-law Ano, and grandchildren Isaac and Isabelle, of Barre Town. She is also survived by her husband, John, of Montpelier, as well as her sister Margaret, of Bellows Falls. She was predeceased by her son Jason, her sister Bella and brother Nelson. Janet loved family meals, shopping trips and spending time with her grandkids. In the last four months of her life, she derived immeasurable joy from spending time at Project Independence in Barre.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to Bonnie of Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice for her diligent care over the last few weeks of Janet’s illness. In particular, we wish to express our deep appreciation to the angels of Project Independence for the loving care, humor and grace they brought to all of our lives.

There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Project Independence, 81 N. Main St., Barre, VT 05641.
