BARRE — Some customers were briefly without water when a backhoe inadvertently hooked a low-pressure water line near the intersection of North Main and Elm streets Monday night. According to city officials, the water line was not on the map produced for the North Main Street reconstruction project. They said the break was quickly repaired, though some customers might experience discolored water as a result of the interruption in service. No flooding was reported and officials could not say how many customers were affected.
