• Sexual assault charges lodged

    WOODBURY – A Woodbury man is facing multiple charges for sexually assaulting two young girls.

    Joshua Gilbert, 20, was cited for aggravated sexual assualt and sexual assault after Vermont State Police say he sexually assaulted a young girl between ages five and 10 for a period of five years, and had sex with a 13-year-old girl in November 2011. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County criminal court on Oct. 4 to answer the charges.

    State police said they learned of the alleged sexual assault on the younger girl last January and the older girl in December 2011, and cited Gilbert after a thorough investigation.
