Tractor mishap
kills Vt. farmer
ORANGE — A 62-year-old lifelong farmer died Sunday after a tractor accident along a steep road in Orange, his son said.
Adam Morrie, said his father, Albert Morrie, was found off Emery Road, pinned under the tractor.
Adam Morrie said his father was last seen at his nearby farm in Washington by an employee at around 11 a.m. Sunday. Police and fire units arrived at the accident scene a little after 4 p.m.
Vermont State Police had not released the identity of the deceased as of Sunday evening, but Adam Morrie confirmed it.
Albert Morrie had been traveling northwesterly on the road. Adam Morrie said his father was alone when he was on his way to do some logging Sunday.
A state trooper said the apparent cause of death was the tractor rolling on top of the victim.
Albert Morrie is survived by four children.MORE IN This Just InMONTPELIER — The organization helping Vermont prepare for the federal health care reform has...
