BARRE — Police say a Northfield woman spit on an officer after she was arrested for a fight involving her, her boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend.
Lyndsey M. Greenslit, 27, was arraigned in Washington County criminal court Thursday on misdemeanor charges of domestic assault, simple assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and unlawful mischief.
According to the police affidavit, the charges stem from an incident Saturday night when Northfield police responded to a report of a fight. They said they found Greenslit and her ex-boyfriend intoxicated and yelling at each other. Police said her ex-boyfriend had a bloody face and she had blood all over her shirt.
An officer reported seeing Greenslit slap her ex-boyfriend across the face, and she was arrested. Police said Greenslit refused to cooperate and that an “arm bar take down” had to be administered to take her into custody.
Police said that while removing Greenslit from the police cruiser at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility in St. Johnsbury, she spit on an officer’s chest.
If convicted on all charges, she faces a maximum of four years and 60 days in prison and a $7,500 fine.MORE IN This Just InDAMASCUS, Va. Full StoryCSC held its commencement ceremony Saturday. Full StoryNike has its Swoosh. Wal-Mart has its asterisk. And then there’s Springfield, Vt. Full Story -
