Nancy E. Carr
BARNET — Nancy E. (Richardson) Carr, a resident of Barnet for 15 years and former 10-year resident of Tewksbury, Mass., and former 30-year resident of Melrose, Mass., passed into eternal life Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, following an extended illness. She was 86 years old.
Nancy was born in Lowell, Mass., on Sept. 1, 1925, a daughter of the late Laurence and Anne (Weed) Richardson. Nancy grew up in Concord, Mass., and attended the Concord public school system and graduated from Concord High School. She also attended Westbrook Junior College in Maine for two years. Nancy worked as a self-employed title examiner in Middlesex County, Mass., for over 15 years. She was very involved in her children’s activities while living in Melrose. She participated in the Melrose Girl Scouts and was a member of the Middlesex Girl Scout Council.
Nancy is the devoted mother of Patricia A. Blouin, of Plaistow, N.H., Francis H. Carr, of Vienna, Va., Carolyn L. Bruckner, of Barnet, Cheryl M. Holt, of Montpelier, and Gregory L. Carr, of East Hampstead, N.H. She is the loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Barbara Keyes, of Maine, and Jane Pearson, of Marshfield. She is the former wife of the late Francis H. Carr Jr., of Melrose.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Nancy Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, from 3 to 7 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 7 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St., Melrose, Mass. Interment will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord, Mass., Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at 10 a.m.
