Driver OK after losing her brakes

BRADFORD — Vermont State Police say a Bradford woman walked away unscathed Sunday after the brakes failed on her truck.

Verlea Covey, 74, was driving a 2002 GMC Sierra pickup north on Chelsea Road when her brakes stopped working and the truck came to rest in a ditch at the intersection of Route 25. State police say Covey had no reported injuries and there was no damage to her vehicle. Covey was wearing her seat belt.
