MONTPELIER — A Montpelier man who allegedly caused a ruckus when he stumbled across an early morning traffic stop over the weekend has been cited on a charge of disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred somewhere in Montpelier, according to Berlin police, who said 27-year-old Danford J. Cross was “very intoxicated” when he interrupted a routine traffic stop and was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Cross, who was taken to the Berlin Police Department for processing, is to be arraigned at the criminal courthouse in Barre on Sept. 6.
