Cecile M. Fuller
WILLIAMSTOWN — Cecile Marie Jean (Gauthier) Fuller, 79, of Vesper Road, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, from complications due to cancer.
Born in Barre on Feb. 2, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Hercules and Delphire (Therrien) Gauthier. She was the third of nine children. Cecile grew up in Barre and Brookfield and attended St. Monica’s Catholic School and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, class of 1951. She enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps and was stationed on Governor’s Island, N.Y.
In 1955, she married Carroll Clyde Fuller in Barre. They were married 55 years and lived the greater part of their married lives in Williamstown. Cecile was the mother of seven children, grandmother of 20, and the great-grandmother of five.
She was a faithful member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Williamstown, teaching catechism and tending to the altar for many years. She had a great love for God and was a prayer warrior. Her flower garden was her favorite joy and her apple pie was fabulous.
Survivors are her daughter, Karen, and her husband, Dennis Crepeau, and family, of Beekmantown, N.Y.; son Daniel Fuller, of Williamstown; son Gary and his wife, Lori Fuller, and son, of Barre; daughter Joanne and her husband, William Burbank, and family, of Williston; daughter Jacqueline Fuller and Micky Sargent and family, of Redding, Calif.; daughter Rose Marie and her husband, James Michael, and family, of Burlington; son Richard Fuller and family, of The Woodlands, Texas; and granddaughter Jessica Fuller and Jason Wheeler and family, of East Barre. She also leaves behind her brother Gaston and his wife, Helen Gauthier, of Summerfield, Fla.; sister Lorraine Norkeveck, of Colchester; brother Norman and his wife, Mary Gauthier, of South Burlington; sister Frances and her husband, Paul Carrier, of Colchester; brother Gerald and his wife, Alice Gauthier, of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister Noella and her husband, Tulvio Durand, of Anza, Calif.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Fuller; one brother, Fernand Gauthier; one sister, Carmen (Gauthier) Letter.
Family and friends may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre Friday, July 20, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. Due to the construction on Main Street, extra parking is available at St. Monica’s parking lot.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Williamstown.
Burial will be Monday, July 23, 2012, at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center at 12:30 p.m.
The family of Cecile Fuller wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at The Gardens in Williamstown and Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin. A special thanks is extended to the staff of Fletcher Allen Shepardson 4 who provided such wonderful and respectful care in her last days.
