SHREWSBURY — The Vermont State Police say a Brandon man was arrested for leading state police on a high-speed chase with two young children in the vehicle.
John C. Ryea, 29, was driving on Route 103 in Shrewsbury when state police attempted to pull him over. State police say Ryea took off at a high rate of speed and was later located at Mount Holly with two children under 10 in the vehicle.
Ryea was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, attempting to elude, negligent operation, and cruelty to a child under 10. He also had an outstanding warrant out of Windsor County for driving with a suspended license.
Ryea is being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 bail on the warrant and $5,000 bail for the new charges. He was cited to appear in Rutland Superior Court on July 17.MORE IN This Just InThe Associated Press Full StoryMONTPELIER — The organization helping Vermont prepare for the federal health care reform has...
