• Party ends in arrests

    MONTPELIER — Early Sunday morning, Montpelier police officers busted the remnants of an underage party.

    At approximately 3:20 a.m., police officers responded to a noise complaint at 30 George St. When officers arrived at the home, the occupants refused to answer the door.

    According to police, alcohol and drug paraphernalia was visible inside the residence. Police also found a sixteen-year-old and Brandon Marshall, 18, of East Montpelier, outside the residence and issued both diversion paperwork for minors in possession of alcohol.

    After attempting to gain access to the house failed, police officers obtained a search warrant. At 7:33 a.m. they entered the home to find 18 people inside ranging in age from 13 to 20 years old.

    Two 15-year-olds and one 13-year-old were issued citations for possession of marijuana. Four additional individuals were issued paperwork for minors possessing and consuming alcohol.

    Resident, Rebekah Seigle, 20, was cited for assaulting a police officer. According to police, Seigle registered blood alcohol content of 0.173 percent. Another esident of the home Zachary Barbeau, 20, was cited for possession of marijuana. And resident Alexander White, 20, was cited for enabling the consumption of alcohol by minors.
